Salam! It’s been such a long time since I’ve posted anything, so I thought I would do something a little different. As a beginner, I want to help other learners so I thought I would share this paragraph of an imaginary day of my life to help others learn some common, every day words!

My day
Subaxdii waan toosaa saacadda lixda, laakiin ka hor waan tukadaa.
Waan jeclahay inaan qolkayga nadiifiyo.
Caadi ahaan waan quraacdaa. Waan jeclahay inaan cuno rooti leh subag shaahna waan cabbaa.
Maalintayda waan bilaabaa. Waan diyaar ahay.
Maalin kasta shaqada waan u socdaa.
Waxaan iibsadaa qado sababtoo ah waan daalanahay oo waan gaajaysanahay.
Shaqada waan dhammeeyaa, Alxamdulillaah.
Kaddib waqtigaas guriga waan ku noqdaa.
In the morning, I wake up at six o’clock, but before that, I pray.
I like to clean my room.
Usually, I have breakfast. I like to eat bread with butter and I drink tea.
I start my day. I am ready.
Every day, I walk to work.
I buy lunch because I am tired and hungry.
I finish work, Alhamdulillah.
After that time, I return home.

Just as a reminder, I am NOT a native speaker of Somali or someone who is fluent or even grew up speaking the language. I am literally trying so hard to learn by myself and hopefully one day be proficient in Somali.
