Here you can find a list of common places, and their translations into Somali. Please note that for a lot of these words, I’ve used the Waqooyi (Northern dialect), or provided other translations. - Dukaan – shop
- Degmo – settlement/community

- Garoon dayuuradaha – airport
- Gobol – area
- Hudheel – hotel
- Jaamacad – university
- Laybreeri – library
- Makhtabad – library
- Makhaayad – restaurant
- Masaajid – mosque
- Tuulo – village
- Bad – sea
- Tog – valley/ravine
